He holds Music Education degrees from Ball State University (IN) and Bowling Green State University (OH). In 1993, Tom returned to his alma mater, Castle High School and began a long and fulfilling career. He lives in Newburgh, Indiana with his wife, Jill, and daughters, Morgan and Olivia. Under his leadership, the Castle High School wind ensemble has been named an ISSMA State Finalist 20 times, finishing as the 2021 State Runner-up, and has been selected to perform at the Indiana Music Educator's Convention. The marching band has been named an Indiana Class A State Finalist 21 times, was a 2016 Bands of America Grand National Finalist, was awarded the 2016 Sudler Shield Award from the John Phillip Sousa Foundation and was the Bands of America 2017 Class 3A National Champion. During his tenure, the Castle High School Band has traveled and performed at many prestigious contests and events throughout the country, but he is most proud of the many talented and hardworking students that he has taught through the years. Jeff is an Evansville native, graduating from North High School and the University of Evansville. In 2025, he retired from the EVSC after thirty-nine years as an instrumental music educator. Jeff conducted the EVSC Honors Band and Orchestra numerous times and a Summer Musical performance of "West Side Story" in his career. His band and orchestras at Central consistently achieved Gold Ratings at the ISSMA Concert Festivals. Three times the Central Band and twice the Central Orchestra qualified for the ISSMA State Concert Finals. He has conducted groups at the Gatlinburg Music Festival, Disney World Magic Music Days, and the Kennedy Center.
